I think setting up a few times a week for us to all meet in the sober chat room would be great! I was so excited today to go in and find people there.....unfortunately, they were two people from a large and lovely single site....lol!!! Let's all post good times, and then see if we can get the chat room rolling.....I'd love to see a meeting time between 5ish to 7 ish any day of the week (EST) -- I'm an early to bed kinda girl. I think this site can be a twofold -- one a singles site, but the chat room can also be utilized just to make new sober friends from around the world!

I do believe this site is a great place for us sober singles to meet, however, it is not AA afiliated and there are costs involved in running a website...(I know, because I have my own business) and after seeing the costs of most other sites, (most charge over per month) and DON'T cater to sober singles, it would be a real shame if none of us paid and the owner of this site was unable to keep it running. I think a one time fee of .95 for a lifetime membership is a small price to pay to be able to bond with other people just like us. I think of it as more a "donation" to have a forum for all us sober singles to meet and hopefully make some great friendships or even better find a soulmate. I know I've spent a whole lot more than over the years attending meetings....just food for thought.

I agree with Vicki who posted in February. At this stage of my sobriety (3 years) I am definitely looking for a sober male companion but 'resent' having any AA type service charge me for that opportunity. Maybe you can charge those of us that actually make a connection! LOL I really don't feel like paying 29.95 to get someone's e-mail address just to find out if we're even compatible or not!! What's the point of the Nicebreakers? Am I alone in this? Even here we're advised not to give our e-mail address... What's up with that? Does everything have to be about money? For God's sake we can't go to bars anymore at least make it easier and affordable to 'chat' with new sober people!!

I had never used this service before, but I can honestly tell you people that it is a good thing. I have met a cute guy that I like. I will keep you informed if anything comes out of it. We met on the clean and sober singles line. Keep checking out the singles and find someone that you might like and then send them a message. If it works out, then you can email each other....I am happy that I met someone that I am attracted to. Don't give up...Rebecca
